Girly & Gingham

Hasn’t this been the most beautiful weekend ever!?
The skies have been blue and the sun has been shining bright and the big coats have been put away (temporarily though, I’m sure , as no doubt it’ll be cold and rainy again soon)!

Anyway, because it has felt so much like Spring, I thought this was the perfect time to properly wear my new gingham blazer that I recently bought in my high street haul and to show you it properly.

The Blazer:
I got this gingham beauty in the Topshop mid-season sale for only £20!
I love how it combines tailoring with a feminine frill, making it super cute and more than just a regular blazer. Obviously gingham is huge for SS17 and no doubt you’ll be seeing more moments surrounding this item as it will be such a staple in the warmer weather!

The Jeans:
These are a pair of J Brand mid-rise skinnies that I have had for YEARS.
Yes, they are expensive but they haven’t faded and are such great quality, so if you want a great pair of jeans, then J Brand are for you. These exact ones are no longer available to buy but the 811 mid-rise skinnies are pretty similar.
Alternatively, a more purse friendly pair that look similar are the Topshop Mid Blue Leigh Jeans, which are £38.

The Shirt:
This shirt is New Look and I actually got it last summer in the sales, for something like £10. The reason I love this so much is that it’s cotton and so it’s super soft to wear and is less dressy than normal shirts. It’s a boyfriend fit and I love just chucking it on with a pair of jeans for a cute pairing. You’ll often find me tucking it half in at the front, just like above!
You can find a similar one here.

The Shoe:
My go-to Russell and Bromley Pink Chester Loafers. Again, this are pretty expensive as they retail at £185 but they are such a classic style that will never go out of fashion so they are such an investment. Pink is obviously the hottest colour of the season so you’ll be right on trend in a pair of these.
I’ve tried to find a similar, more purse-friendly pair but it’s pretty difficult to get a really good dupe! These River Island pink velvet metal bar loafers are super cute though and will give off a similar vibe to your outfit. Plus, they’re only £17!

Overall, I think this outfit is just super cute.
It’s gingham, it’s girly and it’s so perfect for an afternoon out on warmer, sunnier days.

Do you love the blazer as much as I do? It’s definitely one of favourite wardrobe pieces at the moment!
