Whilst we sit indoors, drinking copious amounts of coffee and snuggling on the sofa on this snowy Sunday, why not start thinking about your spring wardrobe? I mean we are technically in Spring now, believe it or not, even if we are still wearing chunky knits!
My first purchase for this spring was my trench coat.
I saw this particular one linked on LornaLuxe’s Instagram story and just knew it had to be mine!
Why you might ask?
Originally created by Burberry for our british soldiers in WW1, the trench naturally oozes military vibes, with all of the belts, buckles and flaps. They are perfectly light weight for the warmer spring weather and waterproof too, as you know, we can never predict the good old British weather!
So not only are they naturally chic, timeless and practical, BUT:
1) They go with literally anything
Chuck a trench over your jeans, jumper and loafers or side-stripe trousers, tee and trainers and a trench will undoubtedly bring your outfit to life. The natural colours and classic style makes the trench so versatile and is an absolute go-to for spring.
2) They fit everyone’s shape
A trench is the perfect coat for all bodies, shapes and sizes. They are pretty shapeless actually, but the belt around the middle is really great to pull you in and either enhance your curves or create some! Being lose fitted, means the coat is naturally flattering, too as it avoids any lumps or bumps you may be conscious of. Oh and if you’re shorter, buying a longer trench will elongate your body and make you appear taller to the eye! WINNING!
3) They dress up any outfit
Put a trench coat on top of whatever you’re wearing and you’ll go from cas to smart-cas in 0.1 seconds – I guarantee it! So what is not to love?
